"AWANA" is an acronym for "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed," based on 2 Timothy 2:15.
AWANA is an international, Bible-centered ministry whose primary goal is to reach children, teens, and their families with the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. Through various clubs for kids ages 3 to 18, AWANA offers a proven approach for evangelizing and discipling kids in the church and community. For more information about AWANA Clubs International, visit their website.
At RBBC we offer six different clubs for the following age groups:
Cubbies – 3 & 4 year old boys and girls
(Note: Children must be potty trained and be at least 3 years old by July 1st. There are a limited number of spots available. Please call the church office (816-761-1194) to be placed on the waiting list.)
Sparks - Kindergarten – 2nd grade boys and girls
Truth & Training Girls – 3rd – 6th grade girls
Truth & Training Boys – 3rd – 6th grade boys
Trek – 7th – 8th grade youth
Journey – 9th – 12th grade youth
Our AWANA club is held on Wednesday nights throughout the school
year from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Each club night consists of four main parts:
Handbook Time - time devoted to scripture memorization with as much one-on-one supervision as possible. Clubbers may pass off sections they have learned from their handbook during this time.
Game Time - indoor or outdoor games usually played on an AWANA circle designed to encourage friendly competition and good sportsmanship
Council Time – consists of songs and an age appropriate Bible devotion
Closing Time - final announcements and recognition of clubbers’ achievements with awards.
To register your child, or for more information, please call the church office (816-761-1194), or contact our AWANA Commander, Terry Staley (816-729-4192).
