The Music Ministry at Red Bridge Baptist Church is dedicated to these purposes:
Equip and train believers to express praise, thanksgiving, confession and petition to God
Unite believers in fellowship and corporate worship
Equip believers to reflect and meditate during personal times of devotion
Communicate the Gospel to the lost through the medium of music
Enhance biblical and theological truths
Provide a platform for believers to use their spiritual gifts and talents
Colossians 3:16 commands us to “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” It is difficult to square the common practice these days of dividing corporate worship services according to different styles and tastes. In the spirit of Philippians 2:2-3, music at RBBC encompasses a variety of styles from traditional to contemporary, with songs from hymns that have stood the test of time to current compositions, and utilize all types instruments from organ, to brass, to guitar. We desire to obey the scriptural call for unity in the body of Christ, and understand the necessity of young people being mentored in worship by those older in the faith, and esteem the energy that youth brings to worship.
The Highest Praise Choir and Orchestra is the main performing group at RBBC, accommodating a wide variety of ages from 7th grade through adult. It provides weekly special music seeking to glorify God and encourage the believer.
Opportunities are also available for providing special music through instrumental and vocal solos and groups, such as Five Alive and Heaven Bound.
Children are trained in music and worship through the age graded choirs Joyful Jamboree and Sonshine Singers.
Special music productions are given throughout the year. Christmas Music Night is an RBBC tradition. We also offer a five day music camp for children in the summer.
Regularly scheduled rehearsal times:
Highest Praise Choir and Orchestra – 7:30 pm Wednesday and 4:30 pm Sunday afternoon (5:00 during summer)
Joyful Jamboree and Sonshine Singers – 5:00 pm Sunday afternoon
